Chinese Charm Purse

Though I purchased Stitch & Bitch two winters ago, it wasn't until this October that I realized that I might be capable of deciphering one of its patterns! I've been miserable at work the past few months. Knitting has been escape from the stress of working in an environment that has broken my spirit. Last Friday, I left work at 2:45 p.m. smiling, knowing that the next two weeks were my holiday from hell! I drove to Loopy Yarns in the South Loop and purchased 3 skeins of Lamb's Pride Bulky.

I spent most of Christmas day and yesterday knitting and here are the results! Sewing the lining was more difficult than I imagined. So was attaching the bamboo handles. Whatever...it is done!!!

Isn't the lining pretty?!?!?

Why am I here?

After two years of knitting basic scarves and countless years of crocheting curly scarves under the watchful eye of my mother, I decided to take my yarning skills to the next level. During the past few months, I've stepped up my knitting game. I've made a few hats, a purse, and am attempting my first pair of gloves!! Knitting is no longer just a hobby - it has become an obsession. My intention is to document my progression as a knitter and to keep track of all the fabulous things I've made! Enjoy!

I made this hat using a pattern from Stitch & Bitch: The Knitters Handbook. I adore it! It only took me a few days to make it. I plan on having this hat be my signature gift for every new baby that enters my life!!! I used this amazing soft yarn from Nini in Chicago.
